Storm Water Management

Baudhuin Surveying & Engineering is a leader in storm water management designs and related permits throughout Wisconsin. Storm water design alternatives vary depending on the size of the project, soil conditions, depth to ground water table and bedrock. Some projects require synthetic pond liners with other sites relying on infiltration measures to meet storm water goals. Projects exceeding one acre of overall land disturbance require a DNR 216 land disturbance permit (Notice of Intent application). In these cases the site needs to be modeled through the SLAMM Program to estimate suspended solids reduction exceeds 80% per DNR requirements. The design also needs to demonstrate the post developed peak flow rates do not exceed the pre-developed rates to protect downstream properties.

Our expertise includes:

  • Wet storm pond design
  • Dry pond design
  • TR-55 hydrology modeling
  • SLAMM water quality analysis
  • Rain garden design
  • Bio-retention design
  • Grassy swale design
  • Filter strip design
  • Erosion control plans
  • Storm sewer sizing/design
  • DNR permits
