Dennis has been employed at Baudhuin Incorporated for 18 years. He got his start working with Autocad as the Mapping Technician in the Door County Real Property Lister’s office in 1988 and has been to many seminars and classes pertaining to Autocad, Autocogo, Eagle Point, Land Desktop and Autodesk Civil 3D. Dennis’ expertise in CAD drafting ranges from design and drafting of subdivision plats and engineering plans (including utility plans, road plans, grading plans, staking plans and septic system plans) to site plans, plats of survey, Certified Survey Maps and condominium plats. His vast experience and knowledge afford him the freedom to take surveyor’s raw data and turn it into a presentable, working plan to be used by the company’s surveyors and engineers to be further developed into a final plan or plan set for contractors or recording by municipalities. He has extensive knowledge and experience in the interpretation and preparation of legal descriptions which assists the companies’ surveyors, enabling them to concentrate more on field work and computations.

He has also worked closely with many attorneys in regards to the task of conveying in graphic form, the desired layouts for several Condominium Plats.

Although primarily a member of the office staff, Dennis’ knowledge of field procedures allows him to accurately and precisely assist field crews in the setup and implementation of field staking for everything from the smallest single family septic system or residence, to the infrastructure for a multi-family subdivision or commercial building. Dennis is also the company’s representative for the Door County Homebuilders Association.

Representative Experience

  • New Luxembourg – Village of Belgium, WI:
    Worked with project engineers in design and platting of a cultural center site, residential subdivision, and commercial district. Among the duties performed were – road plan and profiles for 9,000 feet of roads, site grading plans, municipal sewer and water plans, storm pond plans and storm sewer plans. Also worked closely with project manager and site developer in drafting maps and legal descriptions for placing property in Tax Incremental Financing District, and worked closely with project engineers and surveyors in the setup of field staking of storm ponds, sanitary sewer and water for the first phase of the project.
  • Highlands at Maxwelton Braes, Door County, WI:
    Worked with project developers in the layout of 20+ multi family units along a golf course, assisted project engineers in the development and drafting of sanitary sewer and stormwater management plans, and worked closely with developer’s attorney on the layout and legal descriptions for the condominium plat.
  • Grandview Condominium Project, Door County, WI:
    Worked with surveyor to develop a plat of survey (including writing exterior legal description) and took field data and generated a two foot contour map of the entire site, then worked closely with project developer in developing a layout for the site showing proposed drives and buildings. Worked with project manager to lay out sanitary sewer and storm sewer and develop a set of plans including sanitary sewer, storm sewer, grading and erosion control plans. Worked with developer’s attorney to lay out parcels and write legal descriptions for re-zoning and stormwater easements and for Certified Survey Maps and a condominium plat. Worked with Project Surveyor to set up site for staking of sanitary sewer, septic system, storm sewer, buildings, drives and stormwater ponds.
  • Center Pointe Marina and Shipyard Residential Development:
    10 Lot subdivision and 10 unit condominium in the City of Sturgeon Bay. Work with project developers laying out street, buildings and lots for a Chapter 236 Plat of the project, then worked with project engineers to lay out and design street profile and infrastructure for the entire project. Upon completion of engineering plans, worked with project surveyor setting up field staking of curb, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water, buildings, parking and sidewalks. Also worked with developer’s attorney to record a condominium plat of a portion of the site.
  • Cottage Glenn Residential Condominium, Door County, WI:
    Worked with project developers to design a layout with mixed single family and multi-family residences overlooking Ellison Bay. Worked with project surveyor and project developers setting up staking for roads, buildings and septic system. Also worked with developer’s attorney on layout, writing legal descriptions for and recording a condominium plat of the site.
